When it comes to global events like the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, "standard" signage doesn't cut it. Installations have to be massive, visually stunning, and built to survive the grueling desert elements—intense heat, high winds, and thousands of festival-goers.
One of our absolute favorite projects to tackle at our 100% solar-powered Riverside facility was the fabrication of the Giant Flower Wraps.
This wasn't just a printing job; it was a complex engineering puzzle. Here is a look behind the scenes at how we brought these massive, three-dimensional structural elements to life.
The Engineering Challenge: Precision on a Massive Scale
Wrapping a flat wall is one thing. Wrapping complex, multi-layered, curved structural panels that stand stories tall requires an entirely different level of math and manufacturing precision.

Flawless Registration: Because the graphic spans multiple interlocking panels, our digital prepress team had to calculate geometric distortions perfectly. A misalignment of even a quarter of an inch would ruin the seamless look of the entire installation.

Complex Contours: Our industrial CNC routers precision-cut the custom substrates, ensuring every edge matched the architectural blueprints exactly.
Substrate and Ink Selection: Built to Endure
The Indio desert is a brutal environment for print media. To ensure these vibrant floral graphics stayed flawless from weekend one through weekend two, we deployed our highest-grade industrial assets:

UV-Stabilized Premium Inks: Standard inks wash out under the desert sun. We used specialized UV-cured inks that lock directly into the substrate material, providing maximum fade resistance and hyper-vibrant color saturation.

High-Tensile Flexible Substrates: The material needed enough flex to conform to the curved framework but the structural integrity to withstand sudden desert wind loads without tearing or stretching.

Overlaminate Protection: We finished the panels with a heavy-duty, matte-finish outdoor overlaminate. This eliminated blinding sun glare for festival photographers while protecting the graphics from dust, wind-blown sand, and physical abrasion.
